"Y" (alias brokep, born 13 September 1978 Uddevalla, Sweden) is a computer expert with Norwegian and Finnish roots. He is best known for being a co-founder and ex-spokesperson of The Pirate Bay, a BitTorrent search engine.Before the founding of the Pirate Bay Sunde worked for a large German medical company. "Y", Fredrik Neij and Gottfrid Svartholm started "X" with "Y" as the spokesperson. He remained the spokesperson of "X" until late 2009 (three years after the ownership of the site transferred to Reservella). In August 2011 "Y" and, fellow "X" co-founder, Fredrik Neij launched file-sharing site BayFiles, that aims to "legally" share.
"Y" speaks Swedish, Norwegian, English, Finnish and German.

In 2009, the website’s founders were put on trial in Sweden, charged with facilitating illegal downloading of copyrighted material. They were found guilty by the court and sentenced to a year in prison with a fine of 30 million SEK (€2.7M or US$3.5M as of 2009). In some countries, ISPs have been ordered to block access to the website. Since then, proxies have been made all around the world providing access to "X".
